Hi everyone I have finally got my T3. It only took 4 months. To be honest I wasn't expecting to get it at all after reading all the posts on Here. People waiting for orders as far back as April. I ordered 300. They have arrived in plastic pots. Not the usual Uni Pharma. New brand Ikaros Laboratoire. Has anyone ha this make. Are they as good? Thanks in advance..

ClareP81,

A few people have received Ikaros Laboratoire but no one seems to be taking it yet.

Ok thanks Clutter. Still have supply of Uni Pharma. So will be some time before I start taking it x

ClareP81,

Make sure that if you are going to try it, you do so while you still have enough Uni-Pharma to swap back. Just think how you'd feel if you had used up all that and had no alternative by the time you swap over...

Good idea. Thank you x

Good to know that orders are now being fulfilled.

As a couple of people have posted that they have received this brand, I checked to see if they have a website

ikaroslaboratoire.com/page1...

Sounds interesting, check their Products page too.

I hope it turns out to be a good substitute for Unipharma and that supply is continuous.

Just a shame that the supplier left so many people waiting with no proper explanation and was apparently quite rude when replying to enquiries.

Yes, I too have checked their website out. Seems promising . Fingers crossed xx

I'd be interested to hear how you get on with it and how you think it compares to Unipharma. Can you please let us know, tag me in in case I don't see your post.

I was using Unipharma and had settled on a dose which seemed to suit, I had to buy a different brand and the strength is different, still trying to find the right dose.

SeasideSusie I've decided to use it today to see how I get on as I have a few days off work. Fingers crossed all will be fine with no adverse effects. I'll keep you updated. 😊

I think the trouble is the language barrier. They come across as abrupt but have never found them to be rude. They have always tried to be helpful. They must have hundreds of people pestering them all the time.

I've not personally had a problem with them, but my last order was just before the shortage so I got mine within the usual time frame.

There were many posts on the forum complaining about them and I'm always one to give the benefit of the doubt so I wasn't going to jump on that bandwagon without personal experience or a proper explanation from the supplier.

However, there were posts from members who had emailed them and someone copied and pasted the supplier's reply to their enquiry about the delay and others were saying they'd had the exact same email and saying yes, it was quite abrupt, bordering on rude.

However, panic had set in with members here and I expect the supplier was inundated with emails enquiring about their T3 they'd paid for, and it's very possible that some members' emails to the supplier were rude, even threatening, and demanding refunds, so it's understandable that a reply from the supplier might be abrupt especially, as you say, with the language barrier.

As they are a long-standing supplier with a good reputation, who supply a few other items too, I didn't think they would suddenly start ripping people off although a fuller explanation in reply to enquiries could have been given, then copied to any new enquiries.

I am really pleased to see that they've managed to find an alternative supply and that orders are now being fulfilled. Hopefully they will catch up with all back orders soon and things get back to normal.

I got on better with Unipharma than I do with Mexican Cynomel so I'm hoping people will give feedback on how they get on with this new brand and how it compares with Unipharma as I'd be keen to try it when I need a new supply.

I believe that Ikaros is fine as it has been mentioned on the forum recently. The supplier wouldn't want anything but a decent T3 as complaints would mean people would not want repeat orders.

That’s a very good point Shaws. The tablet strength is 25mcg as with Unipharma and some of their own staff are using it. I have found them helpful in the past and they say that while this product is dearer, they don’t intent putting the price up. I helped them sort out why they were getting short payment on some orders, and they now accept SEPA transfers too which are free to countries in the EU through your bank

Is this <well known Greek supplier> as my friend still waiting for hers from the 1st may

Sweetpea33,

It is that supplier.

Great I let her know as they not been returning her emails thankyou

Sweetpea33. They too had stopped replying to my emails. I was emailing each month as they kept telling me the date of dispatch kept getting put back. Until they stopped replying. I then sent another mail saying. If you cannot give me a date of when my order will be dispatched, then you Will need to give me a refund. Two days later they emailed to say order had been dispatched.

I didn’t email them and got mine in 6 weeks

I have also received the new Ikaros t3 after ordering Unipharma. I am also dubious about using it and still have some left. I have to say that they were very pleasant and replied immediately I e-mailed. I waited a couple of weeks for it to be shipped. I agree that the suppliers would want it to be as good so as to keep the business.

I started taking it last night. I'll let you know. Is there anything I need to look out for ? Hopefully I won't experience any problems. Their website says how pure their products are. From what I've read on Here. It seems to be the addertives they put in fillers ect that cause problems. But hey far from expert on this stuff.

ClareP81,

I couldn't see a list of ingredients on the website. Is there a patient information leaflet enclosed in the packet?

MrsRaven profile image
MrsRaven in reply toClutter

Clutter, the list is on the tub

Microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, stearic acid

25mcg liothyronine sodium

hi, curious how you were getting on with the ikaros t3? I still have some unipharma left but not sure about the new one. just wondered if you had noticed any difference.

MrsRaven profile image
MrsRaven

I have started mine. I waited 6 weeks so maybe I was lucky. I was a bit hypo before I started but it will be a little while before I get a full picture. But I can say that my early morning panic attacks have stopped. Not retaining fluid as badly. I am not good at this time of year either with SAD. And have had a lot of stress lately.

I had a long conversation with the suppliers. It seems that they negotiated for over 6 months to acquire this source. It’s not normally supplied to pharmacies but is used “in the trade” as you could say. They could access Turkish t3 but they felt it was inferior. Some of their employees are using Ikaros as a trial and are getting on well with it.

Time will tell. I might try NDT as I am sure levo doesn’t agree with me, but I will probably still need additional T3

Can I just check that this is the site that is still saying Unipharma but they are now filling back orders with Ikaros? (I'm pleased if they're working through back orders.)

Mrs Raven

I would be most grateful if would pm me details of this supplier and what is SEPA payments

always afraid that the CCG will stop my T3

Thank you

I received mine yesterday fulfilling an order the balance of an order from March. Thank goodness as I'm starting to get low.

Also hoping it doesn't cause any reactions and that the supply is steady so I can drop the NDT and go back to T3 only.

Noticed that the tablets themselves are quite small so not sure if they'll cut down to quarters but will give it a try. Also checked out the link that was posted and must say one of the other products does look quite interesting.

After reading MrsRaven’s view I’m wondering if Ikaros is now going to be a bit of competition for UniPharma. Where’d they come from? If so UniPharma May up production and then what happens? This ‘new’ supplier is a good thing but I still have unanswered questions. Only yesterday someone had done research and their address, data and taxes seem iffy. I’m fine for 11 more months and maybe 23 if I decide to buy another years worth but as I said; there’s too many unanswered questions. This is people’s health

Clutter profile image
Clutter in reply toEbonyEvans

EbonyEvans,

Why are you concerned about the taxes of overseas suppliers?

EbonyEvans profile image
EbonyEvans

Clutter, new businesses etc should have tax records. When they are filed abnormally (offshore) or are harder to find it makes me wonder if and what is being hidden.

Clutter profile image
Clutter in reply toEbonyEvans

EbonyEvans,

It isn't abnormal for overseas and offshore businesses to have their tax records overseas is it?

EbonyEvans profile image
EbonyEvans in reply toClutter

No, it’s not abnormal. But I’m not an expert. Maybe Google per centages if it’s of interest. Then again their another company that does that so may not be accurate.
