Hypo88,

1,000mcg methycobalamin will raise B12 and 210mg Ferrous Fumarate taken with 1,000mg vitamin C will raise ferritin. Take iron 4 hours away from Levothyroxine.

Hypo88,

It's an individual thing. If levels drop when you stop supplementing you will need to continue supplementing.

Good idea to take vitamin B complex too when taking vitamin B12. This helps keep all the B's in balance and will also boost Folate

But if you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 3-5 days before any blood tests, as biotin can falsely affect test results

Iron comes in various different forms. The commonest supplements contain "iron salts" such as ferrous fumarate or sulphate or gluconate or bisglycinate. Iron can also be supplemented in the form of ferritin and haem (or heme).

If you wanted to, you could supplement iron salts and heme supplements and ferritin supplements, although I would suggest comprehensive iron testing every month if you did this, and I wouldn't want to do it myself! Excessive iron and/or ferritin in the body is poisonous and dangerous. I think supplementing all these different forms of iron at the same time would be very expensive!
