Here are my results from early September
TSH 0.14 mu/l (NR 0.3-4.2)
FT4 11.2 pmol/l (NR 9-19)
F3 3.5 pmol/l/. (No NR given)

FT4 is low and am assuming your FT3 is also. Read on the following link about FT4 and FT3.

Shows, thank you so much. They seem low to me as well, and I don't see how that can be sc hyper. Also, t4 and 3t3 are falling, not rising, and my tsh although still low is slightly higher, which suggests to me, a person who knows nothing for sure except how ill I feel, that my pituitary is trying as hard as it can and still failing. X ginny
I have read your original post and it would suggest that there is something wrong with your thyroid gland if it has been suggested that you have RAI. As far as I know RAI is offered to someone who has thyroid cancer but I don't think you have that.
Have you been diagnosed according to your very low TSH as most Endocrinologists and Doctors seem to believe a very low TSH as being hyperactive. Who suggested RAI. These are symptoms of hyperthyroidism:-

You need thyroid antibodies tested as then you could have Hashimoto's which veers from hypo to hyper until the thyroid gland is defunct and the person is definitely hypothyroid from then on. These are symptoms:-

Your GP should also test B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate.
Dear Shaws
Thank you so much!
I'll try and be as brief as I can- so grateful for your thoughts, at my wit's end.
About 3 years ago, some thyroid nodules were noted on an MRI I was having for migraines. I think I mentioned it to the gp, but then forgot all about it.
A year ago I became ill over a few weeks-extreme tiredness, limb pains, losing skin and hair etc. Asked for thyroid tests and tsh turned out to be suppressed. Serum thyroid hormones 'within range' however, so referred to hospital endo.
Ultrasound showed the nodules were innocent colloids, no cancer, so given radio thyroid uptake scan to see if they were 'hot', which they are.
Feeling more and more ill, but endos never ask about this.
2 months ago I found this site, when I was honestly considering suicide- support has been wonderful ❤
Endos insist I am 'subclinical hyperthyroid', which is why they offered RAI. Apparently though this condition has no symptoms, so I shouldn't expect to feel any better.
I just think they're wrong, but 2 years of biochemistry a million years ago doesn't impress anybody, especially those much better qualified than me. The symptoms that have me shivering on the sofa hurting all over with a head full of sawdust seem to me to be more suggestive of hypothyroidness, so I now fel I have very little to lose by experimental self medication-nothing to lose really, because this is pretty much hell. I can hardly stand up.
At least I know one thing- I'm not anaemic!
🌺❤😘
Forgot to put- antibodies negative. I think my pituitary/hypothalamus are not working properly, possibly Sheehan's from previous catastrophic obstetric haemorrhage. Endos say other pituitary hormones, gonadotropins etc, not sufficiently messed-up. Can't argue.
Just started on high dosage vit d by endo- I know they're trying, but I just feel more and more bloody dreadful. Sorry to be so snivelly x
You have certainly had traumas with haemorrhage etc.
We have to ensure Vit B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate are optimal. I doubt few doctors are aware of this.
You're right to be 'snivelly' when doctors don't have the capability of sorting us out. We expect them to know about hypothyroidism i.e. symptoms etc but they clearly do not.
The determination to keep their eyes on the numbers on the screen and ignore the person in front of them can feel a bit rejecting though! Not a thing I ever feel in this wonderful forum ❤️
Hi Ginny, I read this from the Mayo Clinic after you mentioned Sheehan's Syndrome;
You might not realize you have Sheehan's syndrome until you need treatment for thyroid or adrenal insufficiency.
So why are they not related in your case?? Anyway you are barely producing T4 and if you cannot produce thyroid stimulating hormone it seems the only thing to do is to take T4 in some form. Unless and until they come up with something better why not go ahead. You'll find out if there are any other problems regarding conversion soon enough.
This man knows all about hormones and has many videos, I like this one because he brings up adrenal glands as well.
