I have today had my Thyroid function test results.
TSH - 0.24mu/L (0.27 - 4.20)
Free T4 - 22.5 pmol/L (12.0 - 22.0)
I would be grateful for an interpretation on these please.
Thanks

Was this blood test done as early as possible in morning and fasting and with not Levo in the 24 hours prior to test (delayed dose taken after? )
How do you feel?
There's no FT3 (typical these days)
Your GP may try to reduce dose, but how would he know without FT3 testing
I guess you have Hashimoto's looking at your profile?
Might be good idea to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12if so. Very common to be too low.
Hi thanks for your reply. The test was done at 09:30 but I had taken my usual dosage during the night as I normally do (around 02:00 to 03:00 and I had eaten my usual yogurt/fruit/seeds/nuts breakfast. I have never benn. Told to stop rise if to miss breakfast. I have never been offered tests for FT3, Vitamin D, Ferratin or B12. The practice is quite resistant to testing anything more than TSH. Would it be advisable to get tests done independently do you think? I do have Hypothyroidism. Thanks for your help.
So that is why your FT4 is so high, and your TSH relatively low.
It is always recommended to have the test as early as possible before 9.0, after having fasted over-night. And leaving a 24 hour gap between your last dose of levo and the blood draw.
TSH is highest early in the morning, and drops throughout the day, and after eating. And, if you take your levo within the 24 hours before the blood draw, all you are testing is the dose you've just taken, not the level normally circulating in your blood.
So, here, you appear to be over-medicated, when you really are not.
So what would you recommend I do in order to know exactly what my levels are? My practice is highly unlikely to be willing to perform more tests. Why do they not tell you what to do when they book yournlood tests?
