New here, why would my endo say he is not interested in symptoms at this stage?

Taking 100mcg levo and diagnosed 2013. Thanks

TSH 9.4 (0.2 - 4.2 mIU/L)

Free T4 13.3 (12 - 22 pmol/L)

Free T3 3.9 (3.1 - 6.8 pmol/L)

TPO antibody 763 (<34 IU/mL)

TG antibody 855.1 (<115 IU/mL)

Probably because with such a low T3 and high antibodies, you're obviously going to have symptoms. The details are irrelevant at this point. First, he needs to get your TSH down to one, only then will symptoms tell if you're still hypo, or if the symptoms are due to something else.

That is far better than doctors who treat each symptom as an individual disease and give you tablets for it!

And he wants TSH between 1 and 2

So he really doesn't care about you at all - just his ego.

Ok thanks I have had symptoms despite in range TSH and he then says I have anxiety

OK, so in that case, he is totally ignorant - like most of them - and doesn't know anything about symptoms!

Between one and two is too high for a TSH, but it would be a start. So, in that case, what was his justification for not giving you an increase?

I don't know why he didn't increase, I was hoping he would

Didn't you ask him?

Yes I asked him and he refused to increase

I think you need a new endo. This one is a moron.

Sbecci - if he's not interested in symptoms, what is he interested in? Those results scream that you need a dose increase. Did you get one?

And your high antibodies confirm autoimmune thyroid disease aka Hashimoto's which is where antibodies attack and destroy the thyroid. I don't suppose your endo mentioned this, they're all so ruddy ignorant of thyroid disease and Hashi's (they're usually diabetes specialists, very few are thyroid specialists so know nothing about it although they pretend they do).

You can help reduce the antibodies by adopting a strict gluten free diet which has helped many members here. Gluten contains gliadin (a protein) which is thought to trigger autoimmune attacks so eliminating gluten can help reduce these attacks. You don't need to be gluten sensitive or have Coeliac disease for a gluten free diet to help.

Supplementing with selenium l-selenomethionine 200mcg daily can also help reduce the antibodies, as can keeping TSH suppressed.

If you have any vitamin and mineral results, please post them and say if you are supplementing and what dose. We need to see

Vit D

B12

Folate

Ferritin

Iron Panel

Full Blood Count

Hashi's and gut problems tend to go hand in hand and we often see low nutrient levels in hypo/Hashi's members. If you've not had them tested then ask for them to be done.

Welcome Sbecci .

I would fire your Dr and hire a new Dr . If he doesn't understand how to dose with symptoms it's not a Dr you want to be treated by . That means that I wouldn't couldn't trust him with my thyroid care . Ask around for a Dr that understands lab results and respects your symptoms and knows what to do to make you feel OPTIMAL .

So this result is your recent result when on 100mcgs and that the endo saw?

Because if so he is not a thyroid specialist.

You need 25mcg dose increase and retest after 6 weeks

Your antibodies are high this is Hashimoto's, (also known as autoimmune thyroid disease). About 90% of hypothyroidism in UK is due to Hashimoto's.

Hashimoto's very often affects the gut, leading to low stomach acid, low vitamin levels and leaky gut.

Low vitamins that affect thyroid are vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12. If they are too low they stop Thyroid hormones working.

Have these been tested, if not ask that they are.

Always get actual results and ranges on all blood tests

Changing to a strictly gluten free diet may help reduce symptoms.
