Undiagnosed UAT, still struggling but feeling more positive after starting Zinc, B12 and Vit D3.

So I came here after going private for blood tests and it hit me hard that there was so many of us struggling. Even when diagnosed life is hard and doctors don't seem to care, so I had a break from forums and FB pages.

Anyway my TSH was 3.11 and of course I am feeling rubbish but not in the right zone yet for the doctor to care, the symptoms that were getting me down the most was exhaustion and falling asleep at work. I was feeling crappy about not being able to catch up with housework at weekends and spent it on the sofa feeling tired.

It was suggested to start Zinc, B12 spray and Vit D3 and I have been taking it for about 3 weeks now and I can say it has helped me out loads. Not in a magic wand kind of way, more taking the edge off of my tiredness and making me feel like I can get through the day. It has been a life saver for me, my mood has lifted and I am feeling more normal, don't get me wrong I still have tired days and days I want to rip the heads of my kids and hubby but it isn't everyday anymore.

I know B12 spray has had mixed reviews but it is working for me, zinc is fab for dry skin and mood. I know my vit D is low I wear cardigans all year round due to being fatter than I would like, so fingers crossed it will carry on helping me until my thyroid is so buggered that I can get the meds I need.

Kerryhomer40,

Optimising low vitamins and minerals can make a welcome difference to symptoms and may also improve conversion of thyroid hormones.

TSH 3.11 indicates your thyroid is struggling but NHS won't diagnose hypothyroidism until TSH is over range or FT4 below range. Supplementing 100-200mcg selenium daily can help support thyroid function.
