Hello,
I've been privately prescribed t3 Liothyronine. I'd be really grateful for any recommendations for where I can buy this online. I understand it's possible to get from Europe? But I'm not having much luck via google.
Thanks for any help x

AprilMay1,
Is your prescription for 20mcg or 25mcg?
20mcg please x
Aprilmay1,
You can take your prescription to any high street pharmacy which can order in 20mcg Mercury Pharma but it is expensive at £258+ for 28 x 20mcg.
The only affordable source I know for 20mcg is Thybon via versandapo.de/en/0/7498960/...
Alternatively you can use your prescription to order from one of the online pharmacies via thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/treatm...
Thanks for your suggestions - the price is exactly why I'm trying to shop around 😊
Aprilmay1,
You may want to compare prices buying from Turkey or Mexico without prescription then. The T3 will be 25mcg.

Can you give us some background information about your thyroid gland problem. i.e. How long, when diagnosed etc etc.
No information is permitted on the open forum of where to source prescription medication.
OK, so no suggestions on here - perhaps it would be possible to speak to people on direct message?
If members do have info they can send a Private Message to you.
Thanks very much. I'm with a new endo and very happy with his support and treatment plan so far, but I can't afford to keep buying t3 in UK.
If he would prescribe for a non-licenced T3 - there are two available in the UK, but you could find out the cost before you suggest it. Many will not, even though the others have proven just as good.
UK T3 used to be affordable but since several buy-outs and take-overs the price has risen and is now wholly extortionate.

That's so frustrating. I've been fighting with nhs so decided stump up and go private, do feel I'm going forward but it's slow going!
It is slow going and at the end of the day we know more than most doctors or Endocrinologists.
The few doctors who were trained upon clinical symptoms alone and prescribed NDT or added T3 have now retired or deceased. There were no blood tests then and we were diagnosed upon our clinical symptoms alone and dose was raised until we were symptom free.
I've seen everyone's struggles on the forums etc. I was diagnosed hashi 2008 and It's taken me this long to work up the energy to go all out fighting for t3 addition. Guess I will try ndt if this doesn't work, but want to follow endos full course of treatment, as other things (beyond hashi) going on too. He seems really good. I need someone to take me through a structured plan as my memory so poor now, I forget what/why I'm doing things!
If the person prescribing the T3 would write the prescription for a specific make (e.g. Sandoz or Henning Thybon or Sanofi Cynomel), then a UK pharmacy can order it in. See this thread:

I do not know the proper way to write such a prescription - suggest you discuss with local pharmacies before getting it written!
The other issue to consider if already established on T3 is this. Mercury Pharma is Liothyronine Sodium. Most other brands are Liothyronine hydrochloride. As soon I was switched to the hydrochloride my symptoms were back within a week! This is a massive problem because sourcing liothyronine Sodium is very difficult .
Hmm... OK, I'll keep this in mind. I'm just starting adding t3 to the t4 I've taken for years (under the care of endo). So I'll add this to my list of variables!
Message me.....I can't write in public.
I take 60mcgs per day of Liothyronine but I don’t have to pay for it. I thought it was free in the UK.
