Vitamin B complex

Hello. I have difficulty swallowing large tablets and found these small ones in Boots called Vitabiotics ultra vitamin B. They are also quite cheap. I need to restock but wondered if I should consider getting better ones that are often recommended on this forum. I am afraid of buying them online and then finding I cannot swallow them. I also give them to my husband who suffers from atrial fibrillation and peripheral neuropathy. Could you please advise?

Igennus B Complex suggested by many here..I buy on-line 🌱

The Igennus ones are small though round ( I generally find round ones less inclined to go down) and you can take one or two... but I don't see why you couldn't crush them to take, Vitabiotics use the wrong form of B6 which may or may not suit you

Many thanks. I will try these. The long capsules float to my throat and get stuck. I tried opening the link to compare brands but find I cannot read the print as it is so small. Is there a trick to enlarging it?

It depends!

In Firefox, I can right click on the image, then choose Open Image in New Tab.

Go to the new tab, and use Ctrl and + (or Command and + on a Mac) to zoom in.

Not much help on a small screen device like a phone.

The only other one that makes it to the list that might suit you is a liquid... well-actually.co.uk/collect...

The list isnt exactly definitive. This liquid isnt on the list afaik but its good. :)

No we rather ran out of readable space so stuck with the most cost effective, best forms without extremes, so just to give a few pointers for the supplement uninitiated... this one is a bit heavy on the B3 and B6 which might cause some issues, very high in B12 which might appeal to others but it's also £££

Need options for those with swallowing issues though.

Yes, hence the WellActually liquid

I'm struggling to read the label of the well actually but its only 250mcgs folate & 50mcgs B12. Pretty low dose & more expensive.

Liposomal = better absorption? Think in the conversation about this one it was also about people looking for a good maintenance daily dose once optimised

😕 Both about £30 a bottle....

WellActually 300ml/ 60 x 5ml 50p a day/dose

Metabolics 100ml/ 40 x 2.5ml 75p a day/dose

It's good if it makes people look properly at what they need in their supplement

I still dont think that better absorption would make up for a low dose supplement.

That's where it's a personal choice whether you want for example a 20,000% NRV B12 or a 2,000% NRV (so not a 'low dose') which for most is adequate like the BetterYou sprays🤷‍♀️

Personally I'm not keen on suggesting the very high dose ones for daily use... Mary Poppins always said "enough is as good as a feast"

Perhaps this poor poster has had enough of this conversation? 😵

The problem with high street vitamins is that more often than not they are lower dose and inactive ingredients which is what this Vitabiotics product is. Its just not as good as what can be bought online.

Members with swallowing problems have been OK with the Igennus product.

You could also try a liquid such as this one: amazon.co.uk/Vitamin-Comple...

This is what I use. It's a capsule so theoretically you could open it rather than swallow it.

Maybe someone could chime in and say if that is ok to do.

Contains 25mg of B6 which is too much for daily use... probably tastes disgusting 😆

Oh definitely would assume it tastes disgusting. Lol

many thanks to all. I am ordering Igennus and husband will finish them if difficult to swallow and I would then try liquid.

You have to compare strength with strength and make sure you take enough. Many over the counter supplements are not strong enough to make a difference.

Funny you should say that. I spray daily with vit D but it is hard to get it to 75.

Not what you're looking for?
