Hi have finally been given a diagnosis by the one and only dr p of chronic adrenal fatigue and have been on 1 x adrenavive 2 per day for 10 days, I feel worst than ever and am unable to even get out of bed for days at a time, has anyone had any success with treating this or any advise

When I saw Dr P it was in 1999 before he walked away from being signed up with the GMC/BMA. He diagnosed me with very low adrenals just by looking at me & testing reflexes. In those days he was able to prescribe hydrocortisone and I took 5mg a day. I had to stop my thyroid med for a while for the hydrocortisone to kick in and help the struggling adrenals. Now he is not allowed to prescribe medication like that and has to stick to the natural stuff. I'm unsure what's in Adrenavive but it seems like early days. Are you taking any thyroid meds? By the way, I will say to you - he is now an elderly gent, has always been extremely busy, therefore you will need to be fairly proactive in your healing process. Sorry I can't give you any more info. Though I have a member here suggest buying hydrocortisone cream 1% over the counter and using that to help adrenals

I'm not on any thyroid meds at all, blood shows thyroid is fairly normal, but dr p thinks crashed adrenals are not letting me use the thyroid hormones correctly, how does hydrocortisone work ?

I completely agree with you about him being generous into having to train ourselves, I have learned so much already about the thyroid conditions and treatments, however not so much about adrenal fatigue, I think he said mine were about as bad as it gets and I had the double Wammy with adrenal failure and not using my bodies t3, I'm feeling so unwell now I have no life whatsoever, my business is ruined, I've lost the love of my life, have no social life and am stuck in bed for 3-4 days and nights at a time and I am only 28 😢 I just don't know what to do anymore
It can only get better now with the help of this forum. I too lost my 15 year marriage, then my own home, couldn't hold a job down. As I said - GPs are unable to interpret thyroid blood tests. I think you need to get a thyroid blood test to include TSH, Free T4 and Free T3 & as many other tests as GP will do. Preferably vitamins B12 & D, ferritin and ferrous. Then after one week you MUST go to GP reception desk and ask for a copy of those blood results; you are legally entitled to have a copy. Then post those results on here for help and comments. There are ranges for each test. The TSH test result must be under 1 to feel anything like normal. The Free T4 and Free T3 must be in the upper part of the range. GPs just say you're fine if your results fall within their wide range and do not comprehend how much that makes us feel ghastly.
I too had Double Wammy - extremely low adrenals - Dr P said he was surprised I could still stand upright. Also the T4 I was taking for the 14 years previously to seeing him was not being converted into the usable thyroid hormone T3. So I didn't have any good thyroid hormones in me. Turned out I have a genetic fault whereby T4 can't be converted into T3 - did that test (DIO2) in April this year.
You say blood shows thyroid is fairly normal. Have you seen the blood results yourself? GPs are unable to interpret thyroid blood tests.
Yes I have done lots of tests, I have posted on here previously if you look at my profile I have those readings for blood from thriva and the 24hr saliva/ urine cortisol, dhea and t4 test, please any advice would be greatly appreciated

If you feel worse I would cut it down or taper off before you get any worse. It may be too strong for you, you need to listen to your body it's the best guide. Thorne does an adrenal cortex in 50mg dose which is weaker, you can get it on iherb. Hope this helps.
I'm supposed to be doubling the dose tomorrow, I have read that people feel wiped out at first on this adrenavive 2 I've also got some strange aches all over and a weird pain in my wrist, just had the lowest oral temp reading I've ever had too of 95.1 f something is very wrong
It's up to you, but you need the correct supplement that suites you. You should feel better, not worse even at the beginning. It could be switching your own adrenals off too much hence why your temperature is dropping not rising.
I hope it's not Addisonian Crisis. Your temperature is worrying. Dr P said your adrenals are very low. Perhaps you should go to A&E and see if they can do all types of investigations to at least rule out some illnesses. I'm sorry to sound harsh but you will have to somehow beat this fear of needles. (good job you aren't a pregnant woman!

I hope not too, I wish it was as easy as that for me, but I have seizures when someone tries to do anything medically to me, especially needles, if I go to a and e they will just want to stick needles and don't understand my condition even having my blood pressure taken can make me pass out 🙈
It's your choice. Speedily find a way to get blood tests done - valium, hypnotherapy, or google it for ideas. Or perhaps die a horrible death. Extremely low adrenals along with very low thyroid hormones = Addisons Disease
Folks. Im very suspocious. Im feeling like i have adrenal as well. My serum cortisol was 70 afternoon and thre accepted as a normal. Should be rechecked in the morning but from 4 days my doctor dont wana send me for retest this. He found thyroid on me but im feeling very tired.
