I keep having the same patterns repeat

I have high cortisol in morning, I do have adrenal fatigue and being managed by a naturopath

But I keep crashing and here are my symptons

I want to know if any one else is suffering same ....

Back pain, shoulders to elbow

Knee pain, foot pain, strange turning in of the arches feeling

Pain in calf

Tingly hands and feet

Inner trembling upon waking

Tired all the time

Anxiety through the roof in the morning but by 3 or 4pm I’m like a totally different person, I seem fine, happy, not anxious one bit.

Most days I cry when it all becomes overwhelming

My poor body aches

My thoughts race

My heart is racing

I feel terrible

No energy

Sad

I have all these symptoms, ever since I had a hernia mesh in my groin last Christmas.

Welcome to the forum

There’s nothing on your profile

Do you have a thyroid problem, are you currently taking any replacement thyroid hormones.

If yes, what and how much

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested.

Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if you have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) diagnosed by raised Thyroid antibodies

Ask GP to test vitamin levels

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .

Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

If/when also on T3, make sure to take last third or quarter of daily dose 8-12 hours prior to test, even if this means adjusting time or splitting of dose day before test

Is this how you do your tests?

Have you had any adrenal testing?

It would seem that your anxiety is linked to your high morning cortisol. Presumably you have discussed this with the naturopath so what has he/she said?

What is being done to lower your high morning cortisol?

What are your cortisol levels during the rest of the day?

Have you done a 24 hour adrenal saliva test for cortisol/dhea?

Hi SeasideSusieLevels drop during the day

We are working on reducing levels via raising hormones

Yes have done 3 saliva tests over past 2 years and about to do another next week

It’s either adrenals working too hard trying to balance out my lack of hormones

Or straight up stress

I’m getting bloods done this week fir BHRT

What do you suggest to take to bring down morning cortisol

Sorry, I don't know, I'm trying to raise my morning level. I would have thought your practioner would be dealing with that.

Everyone who is healthy has cortisol levels that drop during the day. Cortisol output has a circadian rhythm. See this (rather pathetic) graph to see what I mean :

You could create a new post and post the results of your various saliva tests. Then you could ask for feedback.

If you are in dreadful pain all the time then this is likely to raise your cortisol. Have you been investigated for this muscle pain? You mentioned stress - well, being in pain is extremely stressful.

You might have some form of arthritis - lots of conditions can lead to arthritis symptoms of some form or other.

You might have something like vitamin D deficiency or some other nutrient deficiency. Many nutrient deficiencies will cause pain. And they can be tested and fixed without ever seeing a doctor if you know how, and what to do about deficiencies. We can help you with that.

And of course, having too little thyroid hormone - particularly Free T3 - can cause pain. There are loads of symptoms which can occur in people with thyroid disease. Some of the symptoms are more common than others, and you might be be one of the people who tends towards muscular pain.

But without numbers and reference ranges for cortisol (in saliva, and blood if you have it), nutrients and thyroid we have nothing to go on.

I had high cortisol results from a saliva cortisol test several years ago. Samples 1, 2 and 4 were over the range, and sample three was about 90% through the range. It took a lot of experimentation but I have managed to lower my cortisol. I'm basing that on my symptoms though, because I can no longer do saliva cortisol tests - I don't have enough spit.

I can send my last bloods and saliva tests, see what you make of it, I personally feel it’s thyroid to, I had a little lump on my front of throat and a little crystal like pimple that comes out of it every now and thenSometimes I get throat like feeling of having hair ball stuck in there

I’m thin

Can’t put on weight

I am getting new blood tests this week and new cortisol tests

Every time I get thyroid check naturopath says it’s perfect

But I’m the believer of the double split experiment

My thyroid knows it’s being watched, so it plays nice lol
