...apparently have selenium in them. But of course you can't know how much. Does anyone else eat these nuts instead of selenium supplements? I know one shouldn't take too much selenium. I just like the idea of taking in vitamins and minerals in natural form where I can. I like Brazil nuts too!

Brazil nuts...
Sorry, I've just seen LOUPS' post from a month ago and read the replies there.
Yes, I take 3 nuts a day as I prefer natural form rather than artificial supplements.
I've read that body doesn't deal with artificial stuff as well as natural.
People say that you can not know how much selenium is in each nut, but nutritionists suggest 2-3 nuts a day.
Brilliant, thank you. Yes I have read something about absorption being ideal if the vitamin or mineral is in a food. I had some selenium supplements but looked at the bottle a couple of weeks ago and realised they did not say gluten free. Then saw that my Floradix iron drink has gluten as well which was a bit annoying as I thought I had gone gluten free.
Too right.
Here is a guide to how much selenium is contained in Brazil nuts depending on where they are grown. If you can find some where the packaging states "Grown in selenium rich soil" or gives the country and area of origin, then you'll know how much selenium you're getting. If it doesn't state that then you can safely assume there will be none and you'd be better off getting a selenium supplement
