I just had my thyroxine increased from 50 mgs to 75mgs. I now have bloating and low back pain. Will this subside as dose kicks in.

Change in dosage
Has the dose increase included a change to your normal brand? always stick to the same one rather than mix and match eg 50s of one and 25s of another.
How long ago did your dose change? Many people have issues with the different binders and fillers in the tablets. I cant take TEVA as over a couple of weeks it gave me very painful joints but they miraculously went back to nearly normal 4 days after changing it back. If your 50s are the same brand you normally have try using a pill cutter to make a 75 dose and see if symptoms subside, if they do then ask your pharmacy to put on your notes to only supply that brand or at least to avoid the dodgy one, just give them plenty of notice when needing a refil incase they have to order in specially. Bloating is often a reaction too.
If you havent already done so it is well worth getting your folate, b12, vit d and iron tested, we need minimum levels to ensure good T4 / T3 conversion and low levels are also guilty of causing muscular/skeletal pain. If you have already been tested post with ranges in a new thread for advice as GPs start using that dreaded ‘normal’ again and have no idea of the significance of nutrients for normal patients let alone hypos.
