I have a complex history - sick from Levo then doc OD'd me thinking it was a dosage issue, switched to desiccated balancer (long story but not just typical Armour type replacement) for 10 days, felt awful, tried Levo at 25mcg which still made me sick, better immediately upon stopping so obviously was the fillers. As of July:
TSH 4.0 ref 1.6-5.6;
FT4 0.7 ref 0.8-1.8
FT3 4.1 ref 2.3-4.2)
The doc said my original symptoms were undoubtedly hypo and concluded I need to be on meds regardless of the numbers. He prescribed a starting dose of 50mcg Synthroid (which has different fillers from Levo), which I have not started yet because I feel hyper and don't want to be more hyper. Also, the desiccated product (ThyroLife Force) is a therapy designed to balance the HPA (hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal) axis. What if it achieved that and I'm no longer hypo?
I haven't taken any supplement or hormone of any sort in 2 weeks.
Thoughts?
Edit: Endo says it's fine to wait, that the supp my naturopath had me on has not been studied (well), this could be a "rebound" effect.

It's rather doubtful that ThyroLife Force has achieved anything. It's designed to make money, that's all. It contains a lot of iodine. And, unless you have tested low for iodine, you shouldn't be taking it. It could be that that is making you feel hyper.
Your labs say you are hypo. You are hypo as soon as your TSH hits 3. Your FT4 is below range! And your FT3 is below mid-range. I don't know why you think those numbers are hyper.
I can't stay still. I'm zippin around like freakin Speedy Gonzalez. I can't settle down. I stay up until 3AM. It's like being on 5 cups of coffee all day.
I don't know. If I were your doctor, I would say, well, stay as you are until you slow down. If you don't have any hypo symptoms - weight-gain, hair-loss, depression, etc. And, then, in a few months, I would want to retest in a different laboratory.
Oh, yes! I'd forgotten that. Yes, it most certainly could still be in your system - the iodine, that is. Excess iodine is supposed to be excreted - that's the theory - but in my experience, it isn't! Time will tell.
Were you feeling hypo before you started ThyroLife Force? Or did it start when you started taking it?
If you have been deficient to iodine and taking too much iodine that can trigger lots of problems. Especially elderly with thyroid issues often get hyper from iodine. Tho can't say you are that old, but if you have been deficient for long time and take too much iodine it probably is the culprit.
My tests are negative for antibodies but my doc says many people with Hashimoto's come back negative and still their numbers bounce around. I don't have goitre or nodules.
So then would you agree that forgoing Synthroid until I calm down is probably wise?
