Which selenium test - urine or blood?

Hi everyone!

Some success with the GP to report - they're going to test for T3 as well as T4 and TSH from now on - but no luck asking for a selenium test. They don't do them - the GPs at my surgery literally can't request them on their system!

I have problems converting T4>T3, and apparently this might have something to do with selenium deficiency.

So I plan on doing it privately with Medichecks. The question is, should I go for the urine or the blood test - or even the "Red Cell", whatever that is? I'm not sure of the difference and don't want to waste my money so any advice would be great!

Thanks guys - you're awesome.

Have you resentry had folate, ferritin, B12 and vitamin D tested? If so add your results for comment. But if not these help greatly with conversion and your doctor can test them for you. Post your results with ranges for comment as many doctors think if they are in range you are fine but as with thyroid meds it's where in the range that is important.
