I have finally taken the plunge to make an appointment with Dr Peatfield at his Crawley clinic (I live in Derby, so it will be a trek!) and was wondering if anyone on here has any advice about how to get the most from this appointment? And what I can expect, from people who have seen him before? Is there any special blood test it would be advisable to try and get?
Thank you very much for any advice

Take all of your blood test results - if you don't have any try and get some. Also take any medications and supplements you are taking along with you. Also a list of your symptoms and provide him with a history of your illness. I saw him a few times when he came to Aberdeen, he's a very knowledgeable man and worth your trek. All the best.
Hi 😀 I live in Derby ! I really hope your appointment goes really well all the very best and please keep me posted as I've got to fund an appointment to see a private Endochrinoligist 😀
Thank you, yes I've been saving, it gets so expensive with private bloods & supplements. But glad I've now taken the plunge to see Dr Peatfield, hopefully will get some answers, Ill post and let everyone know how it goes.
He's a lovely man, very supportive; I took all my blood tests, including those from several years ago. He looked at all of them. I cried because I'd found someone to finally listen to me. He turned my life around.
Hi Bellerin - What a great step forward....I am so envious!! Where did you get his details from? Can you PM me with details how you got an appointment with him? Someone told me he had retired?
I rang up (ill pm you the details) and the lovely lady on the phone, just said, he wasn't doing any other clinic other than Crawley now. I managed to get an appointment about 3 weeks from when I rang, which I was surprised about! Thought it may be months like the NHS Endo I am pretty nervous, I guess I am just worried he wont be able to help and he is my last hope of getting somewhere. Good luck and ill message you now xx
I know exactly how you feel - with the nerves etc... when you have been ill for so long, its a bit like playing Russian roulette isn't it!! Good luck and I am sure that you will get the answers that you are looking for.
