Blood Tests Before Endocrinologist Appointment?

Hi

I have an upcoming appointment with an endocrinologist and I’m wondering if I’m best to get blood tests done through Medichecks before I go or not?

Does anyone have advice/experiences they could share on how to get the most from their appointment.

I always have private blood tests done prior to seeing my Endo, as then the results can be discussed in the appointment and (if seeing a private endo) avoiding the inflated blood test costs of a private hospital.

Is with this private endo?Either way, definitely worth getting all the information ready to discuss at appointment.  Having to arrange test after appointment will take longer & likely cost more in long run.  You & doctor need the information and you’ll likely know what you need to ask & have ideas in next steps.

Absolutely yes otherwise appointment is waste of time and money

Getting Thyroid and vitamin testing done

Test early morning, ideally just before 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Only do private testing early Monday or Tuesday morning.

Watch out for postal strikes, probably want to pay for guaranteed 24 hours delivery

what vitamin supplements are you normally taking

Just stop vitamin D day before test

In week before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, you might want to consider taking a separate methyl folate supplement and separate B12

having to get bloods done in next few days so I’ll keep off supplements for now. Thanks
