Hypo and thyroid s

Hi. Ive been on 2 tabs of thyroid s for over a year. Havent felt well and blood test shows t4 below range.all vits are very good. Shall i up dose of thyroid s or try something else.what is maximum daily dosage. Would be grateful for any advice.

There is no maximum daily dosage. My doctor who prescribes NDT (Erfa and Armour) has patients on as much as 10 grains daily.

What do your FT3 levels look like? My FT4 levels are low (just above lower normal limit) on Thyroid-S, but FT3 levels are in the upper part of range and I have no hypo- or hyper symptoms. FT4 may not be all that important when on NDT, as long as your FT3 levels are good (upper quarter of range).

It's possible you need to raise Thyroid-S further, add a little synthetic T3 to the mix, or add some synthetic T4. Without knowing your FT3 levels, it's difficult to tell what would be the best solution for you.

Thank you for reply. Im waiting on a kit to test t3. Think im def going to up tablets as been really suffering from joint paint and dont feel well at all. Really lost my appetite and havent lost any weight.

A good Endo/Dr will dose thyroid patients by "SYMPTOMES" . They will run labs too but SYMTOMES is what MATTERS . What's the point if labs look good and patient feel awful ????
