A few things would help other posters to help you. These are:
1. Posting the results with ranges in brackets from your latest thyroid test results
2. Posting the result with ranges in brackets for the following:
a. iron - both haemoglobin and ferritin
b. vitamin D
c. vitamin B12
d. folate
This is because sub-optimal levels of thyroid hormones, sub-optimal vitamins and/or iron, or both of them cause hair problems.
Your doctor should at least have your thyroid hormone results so it is worth asking your GP receptionist for a copy of them. It is your right under the Data Protection Act 1998 to have a copy if you want them.
For the rest if you have the other symptoms and signs of iron, vitamin D, vitamin B12 and/or folate deficiency then you can ask your GP to test haemoglobin, ferritin, vitamin D, vitamin B12 and folate. If s/he refuses then you will have to do them privately.
