I think it is the lighting, certainly looks better in this one. You have lovely hair, and you're not vain, it's very upsetting for a woman to be losing her hair, it does make you feel panicky

Thank you I just feel I'm worrying about it too much my husband doesn't notice but I think I'm over analysing hopefully 😁

It might be a bit of a long shot, but look at the third video down on this site, just seven minutes long, about Dr Chandy and how he has cured hair loss amongst other disorders, just by using vitamin B12

(as well as many of these symptoms) difficulty-swallowing.com/s..., these symptoms also include thyroid problems.

All the best.

Most welcome, I am on a bit of a B12 mission myself as it has completely cured me of a bunch of debilitating conditions.  Do be warned that the commonly used scale for detecting a 'normal' B12 range is set very high, so even if they say your B12 levels are normal, do some research around levels.  Very few doctors understand B12 deficiency and its nuances and what is deemed 'normal' in the UK and US is deemed severely deficient in countries like Japan, where doctors will treat with only patient observation of symptoms.

B12 deficiency is far more common than most health care practitioners and the general public realize. Data from the Tufts University Framingham Offspring Study suggest that 40 percent of people between the ages of 26 and 83 have plasma B12 levels in the low normal range – a range at which many experience neurological symptoms. 9 percent had outright deficiency, and 16 percent exhibited “near deficiency”. Most surprising to the researchers was the fact that low B12 levels were as common in younger people as they were in the elderly.

OK so I think you've altered your parting slightly to hide it. The things you have to do...

You know yourself in the bathroom if you are losing more than you used to. You can't explain it away.

Stress can be a cause of hair loss in men and women as well. Such as bereavement, benefits problems etc. Therefore please be proactive in finding a solution without getting too stressed about it. It's not about over analysing it, if you've lost some hair you've lost some hair, and since when would our husbands notice things? They may not notice if we've had our hair done. Plus others are too polite to say, just as people would tell somebody they've lost weight but won't comment that they'd put on a load of weight ..

Are you on optimum thyroid medication and are you well? In terms of liothyronine not just give it more time with the Levothyroxine?  Female hormones? Other nutrient deficiency. Those are the things I'd be thinking of. I noticed people are mentioning B12. Other common deficiencies are Vit D and magnesium. I am on various supplements to support the adrenals. So I don't know if hair loss is a symptom of one specific thing like B12 deficiency, or whether it could result from being deficient in anything or being ill in general. But for me ok was losing a lot of hair when I was at my worst health wise and untreated with hypothyroidism.

Yeah it's not a lot my friends tell me there's fall out all the time and they're thyroid is fine maybe it's just me worrying because its one of the symptoms I feel like I don't know what to expect I think I've become anxious since finding out and read so many horror stories that it frightens me so much that it can happen thanks all for taking time to reassure me or give me advice it means a lot that their is so many caring people out there that you have never ever met but have something in common with xx

Sorry for your distress! The same thing happened to me, but after a year of focused attention on my hypothyroid/Hashi's, I'm feeling better and have lots of new regrown hair. Please read this important information from Izabella Wentz: thyroidpharmacist.com/artic...

You have my sympathies but please remember that you are not your hair, your hair is not you no matter how wide you think your parting.

The average person loses an average of 50 to 100 hairs from the head every day.  I used to lose upwards of 140 just washing my hair (and yes I am sad enough to have counted them - more than once!), goodness know how many I might have lost in a full day.  Most people have in the region of 100,000 scalp hairs that follow a 3 stage cycle of growing (anagen phase), stopping growth (catagen phase) and resting (telogen phase). It is when hairs are in a resting phase that they fall out.

Take a look at coconut oil or ghee for helping improve/maintain the condition of your scalp lucybee.co/blog/news/coconu...

I must say that your words are as if I am. I had long curly thick hair and over the past year I have lost about half of it. The ends are so scraggly that I am tempted to cut my hair short. After feeling really frustrated with my thyroid doctor, I am thinking of taking the surgical female hair loss treatment ( seagerhairtransplant.com/wo... ) from any nearby clinic in Toronto. Thyroid and hair loss is a really tricky thing. What the heck right? Thyroid may be the cause of your hair loss but the possibility does exist that it could be caused by something else as well.
