ndt charges

my first batch of ndt was delivered fine . my second had a charge of £15.00 ON IT. I Made enquiries at post office. Apparently parcels are randomly chosen. Has anyone else experienced this.

Goods imported from outside of the EU with a value of more than £15 attract 20% VAT on the price of the goods plus the p&p. The carrier collects the VAT on behalf of HMRC so they are entitled to charge an admin fee which in the case of Royal Mail is around £8.

Yep was gonged for £16.41 on vitamins from states, more than the product cost on top of us interational postal charges. felt like a crim, as the parcel wasn't delivered, and had to drive to the post office to sign for it. What's it going to be like with Brexit?

I get caught every single time! Story of my life! I have finally worked out it is worth saving up and getting a big order as the handling cost is the same.

I am VAT registered and am soooo tempted to put the VAT through the books, but I just know I would get an inspection within weeks. I used to put sanitary products through as you are allowed "protective clothing" and the inspector went all pink and nodded!

I also get caught by the additional charge every time. They've obviously got a red flag by my address.
