T3 - Prescription Reduced to 21 Days

I have to request a prescription monthly & is normally for 28 days. This month following blood test, & comment from lab re TSH, again being 0.05, the surgery have requested a phone appointment (earliest date is 4 weeks away) to discuss. They have on my records that I am 'serviced' by an endo and that despite TSH not altering following reduction in T3, my T3 result is now in range, albeit at the top (where we want it to be!) No one has contacted me to say why they are only prescribing for 21 days, assuming they are concerned re TSH score, as that is all that matters to them. I should add that my endo is not obsessed by TSH. Has anyone else had this happen, I hope they are not looking for an excuse to refuse to prescribe again?

That sounds ridiculous!

What are you expected to do? Take them for three weeks, then without for a week? Or just get a repeat a week early?

Only thought, could this reduce the cost per prescription below some magic threshold (like £200) and thereby not trigger something like a "too expensive" warning?

helvella You could be right. But at the very least, someone should have let me know the script is for 21 days only, I went back to the pharmacy cause I thought they had made an error! They're up to no good thats for sure!

Something very odd, I agree.

Shelley1954,

Contact the practice and tell them there has been an error and that your prescription is only for 21 days instead of 28 and you will need extra to see you through to your review or the review will need to be brought forward.
