I take 225mcg of levothyroxine daily and have done for 20 years; recently found old photos of myself pre-babies and I wasn't always this fat and I didn't have frizzy hair! So, am now 55 and probably through the menopause although I was prescribed HRT to compensate for appalling heavy bleeding and anxiety, and also given a Mirena coil, and I have high BP so have been prescribed a beta-blocker...not at all sure what 'normal' feels like any more and rather fed up with taking so many medications. I have a month off this summer (hurrah!) and am planning to try T3, in a controlled experimental way. My theory is that it might help to reduce my levothyroxine dose, which in turn might mean my BP goes down and maybe I can come off the HRT (as it's been 4 years now). Can anyone PM me to tell me where I can get T3? I know the advice is to get bloods tested and I did pay £99 to BlueHorizon but was unable to get enough blood to fill a vial and am not keen to pour more money down the drain. My GP says my readings are fine so no real help from that quarter.

I would suggest nutrients . You might be low on Iron . Iron is very helpful with anxiety too . You need to run labs with Iron panel/ferritin prior to dosing . You might also want to add some Vit"D" Vit"C" B-12/folate, magnesium is good for blood pressure . Progesterone can be very helpful too . If you did well all the years on Levo and you are a good converter and your thyroids are intact why are you needing T3 for ? At this point I would address other issues first . Going into T3 could complicate matters for you at this point . I would eliminate wheat, dairy, sugar from the diet . And start there . If you tried everything else and you run labs on FT3-FT4-TSH etc.and your low on T3 you might want to pursue some T3 . It's not your answer for your problem now . I would even suggest you test for Adrenal/Cortisol levels .
