NDT dosing

Hi

I have had real problems with insomnia on Levo and feeling very over-medicated on low doses (alternating 25 and 50mcg). I am just waiting on my blood results to confirm this.

In the meanwhile I need to understand my alternatives - I am considering starting low on NDT and building up. What is a starter dose? I'm unsure of how much to order.

It depends what your thyroid levels are. 1/2 grain NDT would be equivalent to the 37.5mcg Levothyroxine you are currently taking. You could buy a pillcutter and quarter or half a 1 grain tablet to start. Don't buy a lot in case the brand doesn't suit and you need to try another.
