I reduced my carb intake to 80g a day and only good carbs. No bread, junk food or daily. I noticed the last 2 days fluttering in my throat. like something moving around. It was really weird. Could this just be diet or my thyroid?

Fluttering in throat
Hi rjerome812,
I notice from your previous posts that you are hashimotos - have you gone gluten free? Is your neck sore and tender? I am wondering whether you are having a hashi flare. How are your energy levels during this 80g pd carb reduction? How is you basal temperature?
I wonder whether you are addressing gut dysbiosis e.g. candida overgrowth, and that you may have leaky gut.
I have gone Paleo in the last few months and noticed a lot of hashi flares. Part of this protocol was to do a candida elimination diet (using Dr Cobi Slater's book - taking oregano/garlic oil etc.) and I found I needed to take Jarrows L-glutamine to repair the gut wall as elimination of the candida leaves more "holes" and increases auto-immune reaction.
Best wishes
I am trying to stay away from gluten, I am mostly getting carbs from fruits and veggies. My throat doesn't seem tender, but I have had that before. But it still feels full at times like someone has their hand around my neck. It just feels like a muscle spasm. It moves around a lot and just started when I start restricting carbs. I didn't want to go to low. Because when I used to do the Atkins diet, i would get really sick, I would cut carbs to 20 or 30 a day. But now I'm trying just to stay away from the bad foods. I have had IBS and Gerd for years. SO i wouldn't think eating healthy would bother my stomach? Now if I was eating broccoli or beans then I could see an issue. They really upset my stomach.
Yes I have that sensation of a hand around my throat!
100% gluten free may be the way to go as most of respond really well...

I take Selenium 200mcg to control auto antibodies.
Years of gut dysbiosis/poor gut condition may need to be addressed with structured protocols, which will still exist regardless of healthy eating - some good reads/references...

From my own limited experience to date it feels so important to go gently and listen/respond to your symptoms and pull back from dietary protocols if you feel worse...
Hi
I have been getting a similar sensation these past few weeks.
Mine feels like there is pressure on a certain part of my throat, sometimes it's on one side then the other, then sometimes right where the clacker is.
It is not sore just feels like pressure.
Apparently, eating a low carb diet is not good for thyroid problem sufferers. What a good amount is, though, I dont know.
