Hi I've had under active thyroid for 25 years changed to Erfa in October and have felt no benefits from taking it. My GP won't prescribe the drug but are doing all of my blood screenings. Anyone else felt like this

How much Erfa, Amanda? My guess would be that you're not on enough or that you had an additional nutritional deficiency. Do you have any recent blood test results to share?

Had bloods done on Friday waiting results. I have just upped it 150 twice a day I am on supplements.

So just to clarify, a total of 300mg a day? That's about 4 grains if so.

When did you up it?

Hi I was on 5 Grain but this upset my stomach so have only just increased it again but don't feel well. I have been on it since September.

5 grains is rather a lot (as is 4 grains). It might be that you're overdosed then, rather than underdosed. I'm hoping you know to add (and reduce) slowly?

You really do need those blood test results. Hopefully they'll come through soon. When they do, post them here in a new post. Explain what dose you're on and how long you've been hypo etc when you do. It helps those commenting to know the detail.

Are you in the U.K.? I'm guessing not, if you're on Erfa?

Hi I got blood results and your correct I was taking too much so Ive reduced to half the dose. As my reading was 9.3 so totally knocked my thyroid out.i am in the uk and paid private to see a Dr in Winchester!
