Latest result after 7 months on NDT. Can I increase, feeling tired presently on 2 grains. I also wondered if I needed to take Levo as well. Blood test taken 24hours after last dose. Any advice please.

TSH 0.01

Free Thyroxine 13.3 12.0 - 22.0

Free T3 5.1 3.1 - 6.8

Rosw,

There is scope to increase dose to raise FT3. Most people taking NDT will feel well with FT3 in the upper third of range 5.5-6.8.

Thanks Clutter

The result for Free Thyroxine appeared at the bottom of range. Will the increase in NDT increase that result or should I add in Levo, or does it not matter if you are taking NDT?

Rosw,

It's only when taking Levothyroxine that T4 needs to be high in range. When taking NDT it is FT3 result which is important. Increasing NDT dose should increase FT4 and FT3.
