Apparently I don't have a thyroid problem.

Well, it looks like I need to leave this friendly and helpful community. Got my many blood tests back and all good apart from ferritin which needs bringing up a few points to 100. I asked if the other levels were "normal" or optimal and he said I had beautiful T3 levels and wished his were as good. It is early here and husband asleep so if anyone wants the levels I could put them up later. He said my symptoms seem to be possibly fibromyalgia, but at the present time would diagnose "chronic fatigue syndrome ". I couldn't believe it. Everything fitted with hypo. Very upset as no light at the end of the tunnel. Looks like I need to visit a different community. Thanks all for yr past advice. 😔😢

Would agree, post your results and I'm sure one of 'better assessors' will let you know if they are all good or not...don't forget to post ranges too. All the best.

Thank you UrsaP.

I will tomorrow. Ranges as well?

Do they vary? Yes, will do. There lots of other bloods done too. Not just thyroid. Should I include those too or is that overkill? eg fbc vit d magnesium cholesterol etc. X

Yes, ranges as well.

We don't need cholesterol.

Vitamin D and magnesium would be helpful.

Post any of the FBC which is very low in range or below range or very high in range or above range. Leave out anything which is mid-range.

As others have said, please list your results. I was diagnosed initially with CFS when I very definitely had a thyroid problem. Please don't give up.

Thank you Anstynomad.

I will post results tomorrow.

Found a site called Verywell and the CFS symptoms list was pretty much the same as the hypothyroid list. So I felt convinced my doctor was correct and he said he would like my T3 levels, they were beautiful! Anyway, I look forward to your thoughts tomorrow on my test results. Feeling so grateful for this site and the helpful caring people on it giving their time. Thank you. X

Ranges vary from lab to lab. My GP told me I had CFS, when I queried the links with HYpoT was told not connected so asked what caused CFS then. Was told they didn't know. So I pointed out that as it seems to be one of most reported symptoms of HypoT and can also be HyperT symptom, not rocket science to think it may turn out to be linked. He went onto a speel about him thinking it was something to do with brain...blah...blah His theory as a Dr was more valid, obviously, than a mere patient who is experiencing the problems! Blind them with science and they will run away....

NOT this time!

He saw that when I swapped to T3 only -CFS disappeared!

Yes, please show us your results. I was first diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome way back in 1999. Then with fibromyalgia around 12 years ago. Turned out it was untreated hypothyroidism all along. It was only through the helpful people here on the forum that I found out and was then able to address the problem.

Hi Caroline. I am really shocked to read your post. I feel angry that you had to wait so long for the correct diagnosis. You must be a very resilient person. I was very upset yesterday and today I have been angry. Sorry I have not posted my results yet, just had to leave it alone for a while. I will post them tomorrow, although there are quite a lot and the clinical words used for some I am not sure what they refer to. I will Google first and get that sorted if possible. Thanks for your reply. Gives me some hope. X

Yes, you're so close to finding the answer to your health problem now that you've found this forum. I didn't like the thought of you going away thinking that you had cfs or fibro when it could be thyroid/adrenal problems all along. No-one should have to suffer for years because of the incompetence of thyroid medics. Keep fighting - you've got a wealth of information here at your fingertips. :-)

Hi Essjay16, did you have your rT3 checked? I don't think this is one that doctors do but you can get it checked yourself. My results were all in range and I responded really well to T3. I never had my rT3 checked though and have always wondered what that would have been... !
