Tsh 1.17 (0.35-4.01)

FT4 1.00 (0.61-1.37)

FT3 3.3 (2.5-3.9)

I'm always cold and have no stamina when I have a busy day working out or I'm stressed out from a family function the next day I have to relax and recover, I feel really drained and sore. Any suggestion on what might be happening?

Maybe the medication isn't working properly.

Have you had your vitamin D tested? Lack of vitamins have very similar symptoms and people with Thyroid issues often need to supplement.

Folate Ferritin and B12 are also essential and most of the books say we should be taking a LOT of vitamin C

Can you convince your doctor to test for D, B12, folate and ferritin?

If not There are tests you can get done yourself. I use Blue Horizon but other suppliers are out there

In the meantime I'd try 1g of vitamin C a day and get yourself outside for 15 minutes facing the sun.

You might just need to get your vitamins right.

If all those tests come back good then you need to consider other avenues

Give up gluten and dairy and go low GI

(Works for some)

Increase your meds a little

Change to NDT

The latter is hard work but some people just never feel well on thyroxine.

Good luck

Good advice about the vitamins etc but your reading are a little low as well. Ideally FT3 and FT4 need to be in the upper third or even the top quarter of the range to feel well so you will benefit from a dose increase but try a small one and test again after 6 weeks.

When meds are low we find it draining to work out as you are using up your T3 more quickly and if you haven't enough, well you suffer and have to rest. May be you should be kind to yourself and ease off the exercise until you feel the benefit of a dose increase. Remember that it takes 6 weeks for you to fully appreciate it.

Always take Levo on an empty stomach and then nothing apart from water for at least an hour. No other medication at same time.

Many take on waking, but lots of us find taking at bedtime is more effective. Recent research backs this up. (Must be no food or drink 2 hours prior)

I feel unwell too if my TSH is any higher than 0.1

Maybe you need to try a higher dose of thyroxine to bring your TSH down further? Have a chat with your GP/consultant about tweeking your dose to achieve this.

Being "in range" (ie between 0.35 and 4.1 ) doesn't work for me at all. It leaves me exhausted and achy all over.

My doc has taken 50 levo off my dose because my reading was 0.3 still in range taking 175 levo I felt great Can't function on 125. Have taken 150 for six weeks as had extra levo left but waiting to see an endo and not functioning as I should go with cold hands foggy head and pot concentration etc. Doctor has no idea what they are doing to my life. My cholesterol has gone up from 5.8 to 6.5 in three months since levo dose was dropped. He did do test on vit d which showed up as low so overvthe last three weeks on 150 and taking vit d the symptoms have not changed.

Therefore am trying out metavive 15mg

Which I understand should have 80% t4. & 20% t3 and am gradually replacing levo

To see if it will help sort out my cholesterol as all I have read indicates that it can.

If you felt great on 175 it is likely that that is your ideal dose. There was no reason at all the reduce if your blood tests showed you were inside the range. Many people need to go outside the range to feel well!

I'm sure you know, but high cholesterol is a symptom of hypothyroid. So you've got this and increased symptoms to show that you should bed back on your previous dose. Your doctor may not know that cholesterol is a symptom, as they get very little training in thyroids.

In addition to what's been said, if your levels are OK and exercise intolerant, I'd consider adrenal fatigue as the culprit plus get GH growth hormone checked most likely low also. Both are amino acid dependant...
