toonarmy Why don't you stop taking it and see if the pains stop. If so then there is something in the formula that your body doesn't like, which could be the methylcobalamin or it could be one of the other ingredients. It contains cranberry and cinnamon 'flavouring' which will be synthetic, and it contains ionic copper solution, you might be reacting to any of these things.

Hi seasidesusie, yes I'm going to stop taking it, to see if it is that, i was wondering if you have any recommendations for any b12 supplements that I could possibly take.thanks

Sorry toonarmy I've only ever used one brand so no idea if that would be better for you. I agree with Helvella that the PS forum would be the best place to ask.

Issues with B12 are common in those with thyroid problems.

Posts about B12 are on-topic here in Thyroid UK and perfectly reasonable. However, the Pernicious Anaemia Society forum is where there is much experience and knowledge about B12. You can find the forum by following this link:

healthunlocked.com/pasoc

You are likely to find the Pinned Posts a good place to start.

(Pernicious Anaemia is a particular form of B12 caused by an autoimmune process. However, the lack of B12 is the critical issue and most of the problems are due to that.)

toonarmy - just wondering why you are wanting to supplement B12 - there isn't much point unless you are deficient - and there isn't much point in using those sorts of doses unless you are deficient as the result of an absorption problem (and it can be problematic - see pinned posts on the PASoc forum - link in helvella's response.

I realise that it can be quite difficult to unravel symptoms of thyroid and B12

Hi Gambit62, my b12 results are as follows 190.0 (150.0-1000.0) and have been having quite a few problems with tinnitus fatigue and sore muscles and was recommended to start supplementing as my results were really very low.
