I'm new. Need help interpreting results.

Back in the beginning of February I experienced some intense Post-exertional Malaise and things have gone down hill with my energy levels from that point. I've not been diagnosed with anything at the moment- with repeated visits to various doctors telling me I don't have any problems. However, I know something is 'off' with my body as I am very fatigued (especially after any exertion now), dry mouthed despite drinking lots of water, having panic episodes, tachycardia, and insomnia during the night with unrefreshed sleep. This is all really uncharacteristic of me as I've always been athletic.

This all came on suddenly about 1.5 months back and has shown little sign of improvement despite my staying home and resting.

Here is the most recent bloodwork I received from my doctor. He just looked at it and did not interpretation and said I don't know why you're feeling sick. Go to a larger hospital.

I am deeply appreciative of any insight that members can give here even if it means you have to repeat yourself. I've annotated the notes where the values were on the low end of the ranges.

AST (GOT) 12 {U/L 10-40) **Low end of range**

ALT (GTP) 13 {U/L 5-45} **Low end of range**

ALP 133 {U/L 110-340} **Low end of range**

LD (LDH) 138 {U/L 107-230} **Low end of range**

PROTEIN 7.2 {g/dL 6.5-8.3}

Triglicerides 66 {mg/dL 40-149} **Low end of range**

Total Cholesterol 142 {mg/dL 130-220} **Low end of range**

urea nitrogen 9 {mg/dL 8-20} **Low end of range**

uric acid 4.6 {mg/dL 3.6-7.0}

Iron 63 {ug/dL 55-185} **Low end of range**

blood sugar 91 {mg/dL70-110}

Sodium 140 {mEq/L 135-147}

** above normal ** Potassium 5.3 {mEq/L 3.3-5.0} **High end of range**

Chlorine 103 {mEq/L 98-108}

CRP 0.03 {Less than 0.30}

TSH 2.46 {uIU/ml 0.5-5.0}

FT3 3.8 {pg/ml 2.3-4.3}

FT4 1.4 {ng/dl .9-1.7}

Can anyone here see evidence of hormonal imbalance or nutrient deficiences? I'm really ignorant as up to this point I was just happy go lucky with my life- popping a daily multivitamin and fish oil every day with no major issues.

Thank you again!

Amechan,

TSH >2.0 indicates your thyroid gland is beginning to struggle but FT4 and FT3 are currently quite good. NHS won't usually diagnose hypothyroidism until TSH is >5.0 or FT4 is <0.9. You could supplement 200mcg selenium which is a good thyroid support.

The only result which is out of range is potassium which is mildly over range. If that is the first abnormal potassium result it should be repeated. Too much potassium in the blood may cause changes to heart rhythm.

Thank you Clutter,

May I add some previous TSH readings that were taken 1and 2 weeks prior to this test? Regrettably these test don't have the full Readings.

TSH .995 one week prior

TSH 1.85 two weeks prior

FT4 1.13

Are these readings indicative of hyperthyroidism?

I should add that my blood pressure has also consistently been 140/90 or slightly above these readings.

Amechan,

TSH fluctuates throughout the day and night so unless the blood was drawn at the same time of day each time TSH results will fluctuate. See the graph in healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

The TSH results do not indicate hyperthyroidism. TSH would need to be suppressed <0.1 before hyperthyroidism would be suspected.
