Was just looking for a good book basically about undiaganosed Hypothroidism/self medicating

Have read reviews for STTM books and others, but would appreciate other members on here please. A member mentioned a good book called 'Recovering with T3' by a british author Paul Robinson? - most books all seem to be American which I think have pros and cons.....

My first choice would be Dr Peatfield's "Your Thyroid and How to Keep It Healthy".

STTM seems to be pro NDT only, Recovering with T3 I think may be worth considering further down the track if Levo, NDT, or combo meds don't help. I think Dr P's book is a very readable, easy to understand, explanation of all things thyroid.

If you go to the book on Amazon you can "look inside" and take a look at the chapters to see what he covers.

He covers all aspects of what is involved with the thyroid not working, how to address the different problems, what different thyroid treatments there are, and how to help yourself. The Kindle edition is less than £5. I have the paperback because I like a physical book to pick up and leaf through (plus I don't have a Kindle).

Great- that sounds exactly what I'm looking for... and I prefer 'real books' too.

I agree with SeasideSusie. I have several books but Dr Peatfield's is the one I always refer to first.

Not self diagnosis but a good outline of hypothyroidism is the UK version of Thyroid for Dummies which I found in a library.
