What dose of selenium should I be taking? Just ordering some vitamins and not sure which dose. Thanks!

I might be able to find it, but we recently had someone who ended up with high selenium levels from taking 200 micrograms a day.

Although actual numbers vary a bit, typical daily requirements are usually quotes as being around 70 micrograms a day.

Obviously, if you are low, you need to take enough to raise levels. I think I would not take 200 a day for any length of time. So probably 100 a day or 200 every other day. Or less.

Ideally we would all have ready access to selenium testing so we know where we start, where we end up, and what the route was like. Few of us have ever had selenum tests - but they are possible.

I have been taking Solgar vitamin E with selenium for about 6 months. My gastroenterologist recommended taking selenium (I have Hashimotos & gluten intolerance )

Make sure the selenium supplements is gluten free.
