Brushing teeth prior to Genova Adrenal Stress Profiles test

I have accidentally brushed my teeth and the instructions tell you not do so an hour before collection. However I need to collect a saliva sample an hour after waking. I did use a natural non-fluoride toothpaste. Will the test be invalid if I start it now?

I wouldn't risk it. It might not be anything to do with flouride in toothpaste.

Yes I thought it wasn't worth it. If I can't get the tests done before the Xmas cut off it'll just have to wait until next year. Thank you SeasideSusie.

This requirement is likely due to bleeding gums contaminating your lovely saliva sample with blood. This could cause an inaccurate result.

Hi Paul, so that's the reason. I also thought it was best to wait until today to do both tests and then return them to Genova tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be better prepared today. Thanks for the offer.
