Lindawales,
TSH 0.43 indicates you may be adequately replaced on 75mcg. TSH only doesn't give any clue to how good or bad FT4 and FT3 are or whether you are converting sufficient T3. It is unlikely FT4 and FT3 are too high when TSH is 0.43.
Blue Horizon Thyroid Plus 6 will test TSH, FT4 and FT3 or Thyroid Plus 11 is more comprehensive and includes thyroid antibodies, CRP, ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...
lindawales The aim of a treated hypo patient is for TSH to be 1 or below or wherever it is needed for FT4 and FT3 to be in the upper part of their respective reference ranges.
So going by that your TSH is in a good place. However, TSH is not the whole story, FT4 can often be included in basic thyroid function tests done with a GP but the most important one is FT3 and it is never done as standard.
Weight won't shift unless you are optimally medicated and I doubt that you are.
So as you are symptomatic it would be a good idea to get FT4 and FT3 done but also get vitamins and minerals tested because if they are not optimal thyroid hormone can't work properly. The vitamin and mineral tests are:
Vit D
B12
Folate
Ferritin
You could ask your GP for these tests but whether you'll get them is debatable. You can get everything tested with a Blue Horizon Thyroid Plus Eleven fingerprick test bluehorizonmedicals.co.uk/T...
