Blood test was taken at 9.00am. Last dose of NDT was taken the day before at 4.00p.m. which was 0.5 grain.
I now want to do a private test through Blue Horizon, as this is for my own information is it advisable to take my one grain morning dose before the blood is taken to see what the true levels are.
Many thanks.

Yes I do still have some hypo. symptoms. I seemed to have got rid of some only to be replaced by others.
Apparently T4 can be low on NDT. but I think it should still be in range. Mine is under.
I was taking levo. before going over to NDT. I have only found a slight improvement on NDT. and I cannot seem to be able to raise the dose above 1.5 grains. I think the T4/T3 ratio is not right for me.
I am looking at going back to levo. and add in some T3. In hindsight I should have done this before going on NDT but I read such good reports about it so decided to give it a try.
T3 peaks in the blood stream 2-6 hours after last dose. If you take NDT before your blood test you will be measuring the peak level of T3 not the normal circulating FT3 level.
When taking NDT or T4+T3 it really doesn't matter that FT4 is low or below range. If you can't raise >1.5 grains try adding 25mcg Levothyroxine.
Thanks Clutter, so best not to take dose before test then?
It is actually what I am thinking of doing, adding in some levo.
May start 12.5 mcg. for a week or two see how I go.
Was just thinking of having private blood test first, but thinking about it do you think it is worth it as I am on the same dose of NDT now as when I was on last test.
