Mercury Fillings.

I have recently (about 4 months ago) had all my mercury fillings replaced, quite a big job as my dentist said I was more at danger from metal fatigue than tooth decay, I now have so many gold crowns I could qualify as a Pirate!! Still I know that there was a vogue a few years ago for doing this, I did it at the advice of a friend who has M.E. I was just wondering if anyone here has had this done and did they have any positive benefits? I actually think it made me worse in the short term by triggering a Hashi flair-up, but that was probably because of the mercury released in the replacement process. Would be really interested to know of any positive results anyone has had from this.
