Hi, I'm new here, I've been looking at the connection between hypo and mercury fillings doe anyone have any experience of improvement after safe removal?
Mercury fillings and autoimmunity: Hi, I'm new... - Thyroid UK
Mercury fillings and autoimmunity
I didn't have fillings prior to a thyroid problem. Low b12 and vitamin d messed with my teeth and I had fillings after this. I can't say that I have noticed a difference (if that helps)
No, sorry to say I had my mercury fillings removed about 8 years ago. Since then I have developed thyroid trouble and now have no thyroid it was removed in 2015.
I have to say that mercury in the body is very bad as are most vaccines because many of them contain mercury.
I still think that it's a very good idea to remove mercury fillings if you can afford it.
Also ditch dark hair tints, perfume, lipstick, shower gel etc etc go for organic if possible.
Thanks Bunnyjean, I am intending to get them done anyway - I hate to think of them leaking into my system when already feeling weak. It's worth trying.
Sorry to hear of your thyroid but hope you are keeping ok with meds x
Hebeblue I had a mouthful of amalgams removed and my brain fog did clear although this turned out to be temporary. I didn't realise at the time that I had Lyme disease and, to be blunt, the huge amount of money spent on dental treatment would have been better spent on treating Lyme disease as the National Sickness Service doesn't want to know.
I would suggest that you read up about chelation before undergoing this procedure.
Did you chelate beforehand? What should you take? I'm having mine removed in nov and I've been to see a naturopath who has given me lots of supplements for clearing up my gut. Any thoughts?
munchybunch no, you don't chelate beforehand. My dentist recommended a list of supplements to take beforehand and then a different list for whilst the treatment was being undertaken together with food recommendations.
There's an awful lot to read about chelation and frankly it's hard to know what to believe. I stepped up mine and became poorly so stopped. Not every doctor thinks it's necessary either.
I had 6 months of treatment, a couple of times I felt poorly later on but cleared the next day.
What precautions will your dentist be taking?
I've just seen the naturopath who works with the dentist. Do you by any chance remember what yr dentist recommended pls? Do you also think it's a good idea to do them all at once or do it over a series of months? I hope it's worth it!! Thanks
munchybunch sorry, can't remember. You should be guided by your dentist, assuming they specialise in this procedure? My dentist did a lovely job, the fillings and crowns are really neat but it was time-consuming.
Thanks I will do
My health improved on removal !
