Anyone get arm ache / pain?

I have Hashimoto's and most of my symptoms have calmed down now I'm on 50mcg of thyroxine. I still get the pins and needles periodically though and lately my arms are kind of achy, like I've been carrying something heavy, not really sure how else to describe it. Does anyone else get this, is it anything to worry about?

Carpal tunnel and aching muscles can be signs of under medication. How long have you been prescribed 50mcg?

Pins and needles in arms and legs can be due to B12 deficiency so ask your GP to check B12 and folate.

Hi Clutter, thanks for replying. Was on 25mcg for about 7 months and only went up a dose in the last few weeks so maybe that needs to kick in?

Think I've had my B12 checked and they said it was normal but will double check at my next appointment along with asking for folate. Seem to get a new symptom quite often just when I think it's getting under control, pesky hormones!

You should have a repeat thyroid tests 6-8 weeks after increasing to 50mcg to check that dose is sufficient. Symptoms can lag behind by a couple of months.

B12 normal can be 180-2000! Ask your GP receptionist what the B12 result and range was.
