Do you have a copy of your results? If not, ask for one. It is your legal right to have on under the 1998 Data Protection Act. :)

I think it would be a good idea if you reposted this, with the results (with ranges - always give results and ranges when posting) and then more people will see it. I'm afraid I can't help you because I hypo/Hashi's. :)

Yes I had it before I was diagnosed with graves disease, by that time my muscles had shut down and I was unable to walk or even hold a cup properly and the sweating was unbelievable. The weight loss was scary.....watching my arms getting thinner day by day. I was in danger of having a heart attack(me not realising that the heart is also a muscle) I was hospitalised twice and it took about 3 weeks after starting the medication before the strength in my legs started to come back. I am up and about now but it was touch and go for a while.

I was diagnosed with an overactive Thyroid gland with all the same symptoms as you and it was also called it Thyrotoxicosis. This was decades ago but in those days I was not given my blood test results so have no idea how much T4 I was producing.

I was sent to an endocrinologist at the local hospital who put me on Carbimazole tablets 4 X 3 times daily but do not know the dosage. This medication is still used to slow the Thyroid down so I assume you have been taking it .

The dosage was reduced over time and when my Thyroid was OK they stopped the treatment saying I was in remission but they expected it to return in about 2 years time .

It did and then I had the sub-total Thyroidectomy which cured me needing no medication until 22 years later when my Thyroid began to slow down a little too much and I have been taking 50mcg of levothyroxine daily. Not that I had any symptoms when underactive.

At 5 stone I stopped losing weight as I had not stopped eating high calory foods every 30minutes. My Gp said my ravenous appetite had saved my life.

Hope you soon improve.
