Are there any good experiences of switching from Thai NDT to something similar? Metavive? The new Thyroid S? Have symptoms resolved or increased when switching? I’m coming to the end of my thiroyd so just starting to look at alternatives and people’s experiences of these?

Alternatives to NDT?
I'm just curious why you are saying Thyroid S is an alternative to Thai NDT? It is and has always been a Thai NDT. The production was stopped for a year because of the pandemic but is now back in production. I have received a shipment of the newest supply and it is the same as before.
Simple typo jjf255! Yes, I know that thyroid S is Thai as was thiroyd. I meant to say switching from thiroyd to metavive or thyroid S - basically an alternative. There is a new/updated formula re thyroid S I have heard and a very large price increase? What are your thoughts on it? Is it working as it did before for you?
Yes the price has definately increased. I haven't found any difference yet, but I just started with my new supply several weeks ago. I'll have to see how it goes after a little while longer.
would you mind private messaging me your supplier...hence i have found some online but they want to send email and then you wire money to bank which seems suspicious at best and dont take payment on their online site...weird
I moved from thiroyd to metavive over six months ago. A bit trial and error at first, I ended up overmedicted, but at least I knew it worked. Still on metavive now.
do you mind telling me what you were on before and dosage and which metavive you are taking and how much less you had to take..i want to try metavive as well but dont know if porcine or bovine would be better hence i now take 2.5 grains of thyroid s but havent been able to find a supplier..so need to find something else quick and dont want to go hypo like i did on nature thyroid....b4 it was recalled...that was terrible...i could barely walk..
I was taking 3 thai thiroyd/day - tried a direct swap to 3 metavive11/day to start and ended up very overmedicated. So now take either two metavive11/day or if I need to tweak dose up or down I bought some metavive1 which is half the dose of metavive11. In the winter when its cold I might need to add a metavive1, and in the summer when its warm I use one metavive1 and 1 metavive 11/day.
thank you!! thats is very helpful!!! and much appreciated!!
It took me a little while to realise I was overmedicated. Several days lack of sleep, skin was oversensitive ( I felt the hairs on my head moving and was convinced I had lice!! Also, my knicker elastic started bothering me, I am 58 and had never noticed it before!!) also my resting heart rate increased. I use my fitbit to track. I also do bloods every six months to keep and eye. Its all a bit vague/trial and error, but it works for me. And its available and affordable. Good luck.
