Oh no - taken too much NDT - 3.5 grains instead of 2.5.

Oh no - I took a whole extra grain about an hour ago. I was actually trying to decrease my dose slightly (as it felt right to in the heat and had been listening to my body and paying attention to the very mild hyper type sensations ) and got muddled.

Recently my t3 and t4 were in range and TSH was 0.01. (suppressed as it is on NDT)

I'm not looking forward to the effects of this !

I take it no meds for a few days after . Any other advice ??

I wouldn't worry too much, it may not have the drastic effect you think as it's only a one off. I would still take it tomorrow but perhaps a lower dose and then back to normal on Sunday. See what others suggest though x

Thanks Natchap.

I just feel a bit out of it and nothing too sinister yet ! I'm glad it's not hot today as I think all this probably points towards my body signalling it doesn't need as much in the heat.

How ironic then that instead of taking a little less I took a whole grain too much !!

Over the last week I had reduced by .5 one day and .25 another so maybe because the body is clever it will balance itself out during this week .

What do other people think about when to resume ?

I honestly don't think you need to adjust your dose for the heat. I think you're likely just going to confuse your body doing so. As others have said, I don't think a one-off larger dose will have much effect at all - you got 9mcg of lio more than usual and another 38mcg of Levo. Lio has a short half life - it wears off in hours, Levothyroxine has a half life of about a week.

So. No need to miss a dose. Carry on as you were with 2.5 grains.

I think you may feel the extra T3, but the extra T4 will just be a drop in the slow moving ocean. That means you may be a bit buzzy and restless today.

Lots of people say they feel a distinct drop in T3 five or however many hours after taking it. Personally I've never felt that, but I have felt a drop after 3 days when I've gone off all thyroid hormones, which I think is the T3 being used up. But even if you're more like me the tail end will be a very very small amount.
