Test results help

Hi, can anyone help with these test results? I started NDT in March this year and was taking 1.5 grains by June. My test results then were:

TSH: 5.2

FT3: 5.5

FT4: 10.1

I increased to 1.5 and 2 grains on alternate days in July (on advice from doctor). My most recent test results from mid August are:

TSH: 2.7

FT3: 4.5

FT4: 8.7

Different doses of NDT on different days is not a good idea, because it contains T3. You can do that with T4 because it's a storage hormone, but with T3 you need a steady, level dose. Your doctor doesn't know much about thyroid, does he.

I'm not sure that explains your drop in levels - well, it does the TSH, but don't know about the other two. But your TSH says you need an increase in dose. A steady dose. Can't say anything about the Frees without the ranges. Sorry.

Thanks, I will see if I can find out the ranges.

My doctor had previously prescribed T3 and explained the need to keep a steady dose, so he does know that. He must not have thought about it with the alternate dosing of NDT or thought it wouldn't matter.

Finally updating this with the ranges!

Free T3 is 3.5-6.5

Free T4 is 11-22.6
