Yes, can be as quick as 2 days.

I sent sample in post on a Thursday morning and got results Friday evening on email. Comments I received were just like a GP would make with focus on TSH! I Ignored this of course 😕 Good service though ☺

Hi HW7342,

The target turnaround for this test is 1 day, but the analyser usually sends us the results within a couple of hours. So the unknown factor here is the postal service.

If you have any results out of range this may delay results if our Doctor has to comment.

Message me your name and I'll have a look for you.

Hi Jefner, just spoken with you and emailed your results, they came in this morning.

Hi TUK tribe,

The business reply envelopes that we use for the sample return are supposed to be 1-2 working days - sometimes they do take longer, although the thyroid parameters that are tested are not prone to haemolysis errors in the same way as a liver function test or full blood count or electrolytes.

If result delivery is time critical (ie for an appointment or GP dose adjustment) then paying a few pounds for a guaranteed next day service can be a good idea. Avoid the before 9am option - not only is it more expensive than the by noon option but delivery may be attempted before the laboratory actually opens, meaning the lab staff have to make a journey to the sorting office to collect.

Hope this helps, any questions, please let me know.

Paul.
