I saw a new endo yesterday and he has agreed me having a trial of NDT and has done a private prescription for Efra. I had to get it from the hospital pharmacy unfortunately as the prescription was only valid there so it's cost 300 quid for a 2 month supply which is horrendous but I just wanted to get going with it and if I have a positive result with it I'll look at cheaper options for the future (any advice on that would be fab).
Basically he's just said to make a straight switch with it and I'm not exactly sure of the dose he's prescribed as I can't remember but they're posting the meds out to me today so I'll have them tomorrow and I know he said to have 1 tablet in the morning and another before lunch but I'll post the exact dosage once I have the bottle and label with instructions.
I'm just wondering what to expect really or if there's anything I should do before I make the switch. I'm off on holiday on Saturday so I know it's not the ideal time to start but I want to get going with it before school is back in September and I'm back at work.
I've got my Vit D and B12 to optimal levels after having injections and medication for the last 3 years and I've been on 1000mg of Vit C 3 times a day for adrenal support for the last couple of years too.
I've literally no idea what to expect when I make the switch so any advice/ideas would be really welcome

Do not do a direct swap it rarely works as the T3 is too much for the body to handle at one time. Build up over a few weeks is the best way. I know you are anxious to get started but it will end in disaster if you follow your doctors advice.
Don't think I mentioned in my previous post but I'm already taking T3 as I have 100mcg of levo and 20mcg of T3 daily and have been taking that for about 3 years.
I just wanted to update this as I've been on the Erfa for nearly 3 weeks now and there's not much to report really. No sign of any improvement but also no sign of any side effects or issues (which I'm hoping is a good thing!).
One issue is that the consultant told me to take the first tablet an hour before breakfast and the second an hour before lunch and I keep forgetting to take the before lunch one so I'm ending up taking it mid afternoon!!! Do you think it would be okay to just take both first thing in the morning? I used to take my T3 and levo together all first thing in the morning and I'm just thinking that may be more productive as I'm not really having the second dose on an empty stomach?
Also I'm wondering if I could look at increasing the dose as currently I'm just on the 2 grains a day (which the consultant worked out would be around the same as taking 100mcg of levo and 20mcg of T3 which is what I'd been taking before) but I know that others have said that dose should really be working out at 2 1/2 to 3 grains. The only issue with increasing is that I will run out of my super expensive supply of Efra quicker...?
