Flu shots

Just curious . Skipped my flu shot last season as I apparently was sky high hypo at the time and was so fatigued I didn't think I could handle getting a shot. I never did get sick either surprisingly given my immune system felt shot down. How do people feel about flu shots and hypothyroidism.

have you tried a search? ...

personally I think it's a waste of time although some swear by it

- isn't the spray one for kids dodgy & didn't they try to palm off out of date swine flu to some other country?

I could be imagining it all 'tho.......

My opinion is that they don't work, but are a health risk in themselves. I've never had one, and never will. In fact, I think they've now come out and admitted that flu shots are a big, money-making hoax, haven't they? I'm sure I read that somewhere. It's just another way for Big Pharma to separate us from out cash!

Thank you! I'd forgotten about that. But I was sure I'd read that somewhere. :)

There's no evidence to show that flu shots work for most people, even if they happen to target the right virus, so I never bother.

Check out pinned posts to the right of this page - possibly difficult to see if you are on a phone.

I wouldn't have a flu shot ever :-)

Hi Hidden , I always used to have the flu shot, until that is I actually read the leaflet they give you AFTER you've had the shot! I needed a magnifying glass to read it and what I read really shocked me. Here's a link to the ingredients:

medicines.org.uk/emc/PIL.20...

I especially liked this: * produced in Madin Darby Canine Kidney (MDCK) cells (this is the special cell culture in which the influenza virus is grown)

AKA dog DNA!!!

I no longer have ANY shots recommended by the NHS!

Wow! No wonder they don't give it to you BEFORE the shot! Tell your doctor if your immune system is impaired? Bit late after you've had it and read the leaflet!!! Bunch of con men!

Hi AYorkor - I've never had a flu shot in my life - always refused, including last 8 years I've been inFrance. The Drs here don't like it that I refuse but I keep clear of the French habit of cheek to cheek kissing here as much as poss, especially during times if there are flu epidemics around. I've always thought keep away from heavily crowded places when poss - 'coughs & sneezes spread diseases is a Mantra I took on board, especially after being told I have a blood disorder 4 yrs ago.

Re meds - I only take Levo and have Vit D3 prescribed monthly. I did also start more recently taking Vit B12, Winter definitely is when we need to keep topped with Vit D. I also have 2 autoimmune conditions, -TB - has been for life, other is Hashimoto's Dx Early last year and I'm just 69 now! Was only Dx Hypo aged 53. So NO I don't have the flu jabs, and do not appear to be the worse for wear because I don't! Hope that helps.

I'm afraid I'm much of a lone brigader, because I think we are far too over medicated these days, by OTC as well as prescribed ones, for each and every sign and symptom. but will say I think the Same did or does apply to the food and the production lines involved, that produce most of the food and liquid we eat and drink! We are what we eat and drink!

I mustn't carry on or I'll never stop:- woman on a mission - but hope above answered your Q even if more fully than anticipated :-)
