Need help with blood results.

This sight has been very helpful but I think it is time to give my latest blood result to try to get a handle on this before I get my next one in a couple of weeks. When I was first diagnosed I had a TSH of 98. 2 (.450-4.500) and a T4 .34 and I was put on 25 mg of Levo and told to come back in 6months not knowing that that is ridiculous. I go back in 6 months and TSH is at 5 which is still high. Im starting to see red flags so I change to another Doctor. I get retested while still on 25 mg and tsh is now at 2.7. My cholesterol did go way down during that time and I don't have the fatigue that I once had but my hair continued to fall out and thin at rapid rate. I might also add that I'm one of the rare people that does not have a weight problem. So here are my latest results. T3free 2.3 (2.0-4.4)TSH 2.7 (.450-4.5)T 4 1.0 (.82-1.77) my vitamins ferr 33 (15-150)B12 478 (211-946) Folate 19.9(>3.0) vit D 35.6 (30.0-100) I do find it odd that TSH kept going down on only 25 mg of levo for 6 months. My new Gp is starting to increase slightly 50 mg 3x week and 25 on alternate days. She might be afraid I will go hyper? I am 61 with a family history of heart problems and on my mothers side Osteoperosis.

Yes, I think she's being over-cautious, because your FT3 has a long way to go before you 'go hyper' (over-medicated, it is not physically possible for you to go hyper). And your TSH is still rather high, it should be one or under. But it's the FT3 the most important number.

Your B 12 is a tad low. Optimal is 1000. So, I would suggest you supplement with 1000 mcg sublingual methylcobalamin daily, plus a B complex. Your vit d is also too low, and needs supplementing. It's low vit d that will cause osteoporosis, more likely than high T3. Your ferritin is also much too low, it needs to be more like 100.

It is strange that your TSH dropped so much on just 25 mcg levo. But, I have no explanation for it. Sorry.
