You might have some luck finding a doctor near you via the NTH Europe group - you can ask for the Good Doc list and/or post asking for references: groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups...

And if there's no one near you, you'd be better off going to e.g. Belgium, Netherlands, or Germany, rather than the UK.

I really don't think you'll find much help in the UK. Endocrinology is very sadistic there. They'll probably tell you you don't even have a thyroid problem!

I'm guessing your in the US, since you talk abut Synthroid. The US is a big place, surely you can find help somewhere over there, no? If not, I think you'd be better off in Belgium than the UK. If money is no object, try to see a Hertoghe doctor - or the man himself. Or, there's one in Paris who can give you advice, but as NDT is illegal in France, you won't be able to buy it there, you'd have to go to Belgium for that.

Well, I have heard of Trinidad, of course. But know nothing about the healthcare. Can you not buy NDT on-line and have it shipped to you?

the thing is i can buy it but its the dosage im concerned about. im really scared of palpitations from pills thats why im so sceptic about them i know these thyroid hormones are no joke.

I'm not quite sure you understand what thyroid hormones do. It's no joke being without them, either.

The rule with any hormone is to start low, and increase slowly. If you've never been on any thyroid hormone before, I would suggest starting on a quarter grain for two weeks, then increasing to half a grain, then continuing in 1/4 grain increases up to 2 grains. Then hold for six weeks and get tested. Then continue increasing slowly until your symptoms are all gone.

It is not the tablets that give you palpitations, it is being under- or over-medicated. Thyroid hormones are fine as long as you treat them with respect. :)
