I have "trialled" thro - gold which worked ok (sort of) but one of the side effects I had was weight loss. Now I know that might be fine for some but I am on the thin side naturally - even with hypoT
P.S. meant to say that it was one of the ingredients Foskohilly...sorry cant quite remember, let alone how to spell it that I think was responsible for weight loss
Yes, & I have nothing positive to say about it, or the after sales service.
I felt considerably worse than when I took no thyroid hormones, & had no response to my queries! I found it to be an expensive waste of money.
There are other "prescription" type NDT brands that you can buy off-prescription, if that's what you want?

Thank you for your reply. I did take Armour and felt ok on a body level but my mood altered and I got hoody eyes. I came off meds for a month after my TSH was 18.5, I wanted to see what my body was doing naturally. My TSH went up to 150 but felt fine!!
The authoritarian medical establishment really influences our decisions, should I come off meds and risk what the pro's say, lose hair, heart probs ect or come of it??
You're welcome!
Only you can decide what to take. Other people like TG, so perhaps write a post asking advice re your TSH levels, & one asking about TG experience, directly.
I self-medicate, so go entirely by how I feel regarding levels of fatigue, mood, aches, temperature, sleep quality, etc. TG left me floored, feeling worse than nothing at all, my skin felt uncomfortable, & my face prickled.
I've just swapped to a different NDT this morning, & noticed a difference by the afternoon. Same brand, but WP Thyroid to Nature Throid. I took the same dose as I've been happy with, but it feels noticeably less. The same happened when I took Uni-Pharma T3, with what should have been an overall higher dose than WP.
We can't always rely on what the manufacturers say on the boxes, when the quality of the active ingredients & fillers, & manufacture are important. A different brand might just suit you better than none at all, as it could be the fillers in Armour that don't agree with you, rather than the active ingredients.

Thank you for your reply.
You say that you have switched meditation, do you have a g.p that prescribes for you, if not where do you get your meds from?
I am in the u.k and it is difficult getting endocrinologists to think outside of the box.
seeing the endocrinologist on Friday, I really hope it goes well!

Where are you located? Do you have difficulties in obtaining medication?

Meditation didn't help!
I told my GP I was going to buy NDT, a year ago, as my blood results are in "normal" range, though I've had most hypo symptoms for over 35 years. As with most people, the symptoms are ignored, in favour of TSH testing. Aaaargh!!!!
I'm in the UK, & import from the US. I'll send you a message with the details of the company I buy from. I've read several posts from people who buy from Thailand.
Someone said recently, that their endo had refused to see them for self-medicating, which I mentioned to my GP the week before my last clinic appointment. He said he can see a big difference in me, most notably not being muffled in a fleece, coat & scarf in summer. The endo I then saw, implied they wouldn't usually continue to see me, but for my pituitary adenoma, which they must be obliged to monitor.
You're lucky if your endo gave you NDT, as it seems most refuse. Maybe you could ask to try a different NDT, which is less expensive? No harm asking, when they're already willing to give you Armour.

would you mind letting me in on your source? i have recently returned to small-town uk after many successful years on 3 grains only to have local/ only gp refuse anything but 175 levo for my hashis (with myxedema). unsurprisingly am getting sick - have had a couple genius docs / endos do same with horrendous results so i know where this is going... fast
why is this so hard?
