Sorry I can't help with info about him but I was wondering if you would mind copying me in on any replies you receive as I also considering seeing him.

If you type his name in search engine (above - right hand side) his name will come up with postings.

I saw Dr Chapman last year from August through to December. I found him to be very personable and was prepared to pay to restore my health (fed up with the usual stuff from GPs, its menopause, its your age etc) First appt ended up being around £450 as I paid for consult, blood test, saliva test & urine test. Apart from the blood test, the other two were kits to take home and do and send off. I had a 1 hour appt first time and it was at 8am. He does usually operate bizarrely early appointments. But it meant I could get there and back to work for 9 in Bedfordshire. He's very pleasant and appears to have extensive knowledge of thyroid issues. Subsequent appts were half an hour each which reduces costs a bit. Got all results on next appointment, then a number of supplements, so another large bill. Though you can buy the supplements online but they are actually about the same price as he charges. I spent some months on various supplements but would have to say I didn't feel a great deal of difference. Though I have read since that you maybe need to take supplements for around 6 months at least for them to really make a difference. But I was finding the finance side of things a bit of a struggle, so eventually weaned off them. I had one more appt in December which Dr Chapman suggested as a telephone appt to save me the early journey. This was at 6.30am! However I found I couldn't hear him very well and it felt rather impersonal and I was very tired and couldn't focus well on what he was saying. At that point he had also raised his consultation prices. So I stopped going. I have no doubt that he is good at what he does and he's very pleasant to visit, but be prepared to spend quite a bit of money. He had started talking about possibly adding a bit of T3 or trying NDT which he can prescribe, but he did outline that NDT doesn't work for everyone. I had said to him that I hadn't gone specifically with the idea of wanting NDT and went with an open mind. I do know of about 3 other people who have been to him and had similar experiences, but been reasonably successful. One still sees him occasionally for their NDT prescription. If you happen to drive to see him, there is parking right on the pavement in front of the surgery (which looks like an ordinary house) but may only be one space available and depends what time you go.

Sorry I've just realised you said PM experience with the Doctor and I've put a public post so I may have made a mistake doing that. Apologies to Admins if I have.

I've just started seeing him and was quite impressed with his knowledge of thyroid disfunction. I have Hashimotos and had a great dr when living in Hong Kong who put me on NDT. Dr Chapman was happy to continue this course of treatment as he could see that I was doing really well on it. He's not cheap but if you are wanting to explore NDT or have had no improvement via the normal NHS GP/endo route then give him a try.

Hi Geniler, glad to hear its working well with you with Dr C. I just wondered if you're also having very early morning appointments with him? I do wonder whether I might be better going back to him as I now have a bit more information and further development which might be of use to him in helping me. And also I'm contemplating going down the NDT or T3 route. In fact I've actually ordered T3 and its on the way to me already. But I shall tread carefully and if I do start it, I have a couple of friends in another forum who are ready to advise.

My appointments have been at 9:00 am. He has offered early morning 6:00am if I want to come in before work.

Hi - there is another link on TUK from someone consulting with Dr. C, who

has recently been told that he can no longer prescribe NDT or

T3. Wondered if anyone consulting with Dr. C has found this to be

the case ?
