Have a look at the Thyroid Patient Advocacy site which reveres to him.
I saw him yesterday so still practising.

Yes, he's still practising and is private. I'm going to see him on Monday. Grammyjee
I've booked in to see Dr Peatfield too & would he interested to hear of any others that have seen him, what your experience was & if he was able to help
Scorchio, could you PM me his details, and how it went? I was diagnosed hypo in US and prescribed Armour that was a total resurrection! All symptoms and prescription denied here, so am either looking to self-medicate or go hand-in-hand with a private practitioner, which obviously I'd prefer. I gather he can't prescribe any more, but could advise? Thanks in anticipation.
He is fab & yes he'd advise, but if you know that armour works for you why don't you just buy it privately? Everything he advises you use you have to buy privately anyway
Thanks, Scorchio - I'm too anxious, that's why. Had my self-confidence (and confidence in my previous doctor who prescribed Armour) completely trashed, in my innocence and ignorance of the contentiousness surrounding thyroid treatment, by the doc who refused treatment. Doesn't take much to have the rug pulled if you're completely ignorant of the whole background, as I was - I was just taking the meds prescribed, having been told I was auto-immune hypo. Thanks to Thyroid UK, STTM, and this forum, I've caught up, somewhat (with long spells of ignoring it and trying to get on with it) but am so tired I'm ready to self-test and go further. Doesn't mean my anxiety levels are better or the memory of her scathing attack on me are distant memories. The attraction of a kindly, sympathetic doctor like the ENT in US who prescribed the Armour in the first place is very strong.
Although there are many who would advise on this forum, doesn't it depend on who's looking on the day - and are all on the same page? No implied criticism in this, simply pointing up the chance nature of the beast. Lengthy explanation, but one I hope clarifies position. Anxiety rules.
